En soloudstilling af Yinon Avior

Yinon Avior was born in Tel Aviv in 1991. After graduating from the Thelma Yellin School of Arts in Tel Aviv, he continued his studies at the Kunstakademie Dusseldorf under the tutelage of Prof. Marcel Odenbach and subsequently at the Hamidrasha Faculty of Arts in Israel.

Since 2015 Avior had solo shows in different venues including the KK Museum in Frøstrup, Denmark. Selected group shows include the Den Frie Center of Contemporary Art, Copenhagen (2018), NCCA Museum, Moscow (2017), Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Copenhagen (2016) and the Israel Museum of Art, Jerusalem (2013).

In 2015 Avior moved to Copenhagen but currently lives and works in Antwerp, where he completes his Master degree at the sculpture department of The Royal Art Academy Antwerpen.

Some of the reoccurring themes in my works are physical boundaries and material limitations as well as violence in personal-sexual and socio-political contexts.

As someone who grew up in the nineties, dramatic technological changes unfurled simultaneously with my personal advances towards the brink of manhood. These parallel occurrences - sexual yearnings, manual labor and mechanical innovations - are interlocked together.

Udstillingen er aktuel fra fredag d. 8 februar til d. 22 februar
